Two passengers of a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw, including a child, were killed when a bus hit them in Mymensingh’s Trishal. Five other passengers of the autorickshaw were injured. The incident took place on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the bus stand area of Upazila Sadar at around 11 o’clock on Thursday.

The name of the child among the two killed is Rubaiya. The identity of the other deceased are: two-year-old child Rubaiya Tasnim of Enamul Haque of that area, auto driver Shariful Islam and Jatiya Kabi Nazrul Islam University student Salman Azadi. The deceased is the son of deceased Abdus Samad of Chikna Manohar village of Shariful upazila. The injured have been admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

According to police and local sources, the autorickshaw was going from Mymensingh to Trishal with some passengers. On reaching the area near the bus stand of Trishal Upazila Sadar, a bus took a U-turn and the bus hit the auto-rickshaw. Two-year-old autorickshaw rider Rubaiya died on the spot. Another person died on the way to the hospital after rescuing the injured. However, the identity of the deceased could not be identified initially.
