Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Birampur and Parbatipur upazilas in Dinajpur district on Sunday.

In Parbatipur upazila, 70-year-old vegetable vendor Mohir Uddin was struck and killed by a truck in the early morning in the Bhober Bazar area.

Local residents stopped the truck and handed it over to the police, said sub inspector of Parbatipur police station Sohel Rana.

In Birampur upazila, around 12:30 am on Saturday, a 45-year-old man was hit by a truck while returning home on his bicycle after closing his grocery shop.

The victim was Nur Alam, son of late Monsur Ali from Bijul village.

Sub-Inspector Kamruzzaman of Birampur Police Station confirmed the accident.
