Two persons were killed and three others were injured in two separate road accidents in Sirajganj district on Sunday.
In an incident, a motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured in a head on collision with a banned three wheeler locally known as ‘Nasimon’ on the Solongga-Tarash regional road at Amsara area in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj district early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Iman Ali, 50, of Khudra Madhainagor village of the upazila.
Ziaur Rahman, Officer in Charge of Tarash police station said, the accident took place at around 4:30am, when a Nasimon collided head on with a bike used in ride sharing at the mentioned place leaving three persons injured.
The injured were taken to Tarash upazila health complex, where the on duty doctors declared the bike rider Iman Ali dead.
The two other injured-Shifat Ahmed, 21, and Shamim Sarker, 29, who hailed from Nageswari in Kurigram district, were referred to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogura in critical condition.
In another incident, a minor boy was killed and another injured, when a Chattogram bound mango laden truck coming from Chapainawabganj lost control over the steering and hit a roadside banyan tree on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway near Naimuri Bazar under Solongga police station in the district on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mostafizur Rahman, 14, son of Muktar Hossain of Bagbari village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district. In the incident, injured truck driver Abu Ali, 43, was admitted to local hospital.
The bodies were sent to Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.
