Families of those killed or injured during the July-August mass uprising staged a sit-in at Shahbagh in Dhaka on Tuesday, calling for long-term rehabilitation and fulfilment of several demands.

The protesters outlined several demands, including:
injured.
Aminul Islam Emon, who was injured during the uprising, spoke on behalf of the protesters, saying: “All of us here bear the scars of that movement. We fought on the front lines; we were shot and injured. Many of our brothers lost their lives.”
He condemned attempts by some individuals, allegedly associated with the Awami League, to discredit the demonstrators by labelling them as “wounded league members.”
“We did not engage in chaos or block roads. This government exists because of the sacrifices we made with our blood,” Emon said.
Emon also expressed the dire state of those affected, saying: “Our children are starving; they cannot attend school or college. We fought for this country, but now our lives are falling apart.”
The sit-in demands urgent government action to address their grievances and ensure long-term support for those who bore the brunt of the uprising.
