Violence leads country backward: Amu

Referring to the recent mayhem over the quota reform movement, Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu on Sunday said that such violence leads the country backward.

“…So everyone should stay away from such violence,” he told journalists while visiting the injured people at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) here who were injured during the recent countrywide mayhem.

The 14-party alliance support the decisions of the government have been taken to deal with the current situation, he said, adding that the alliance is also ready to provide all sorts of support to this end staying beside the government.

Amu sought speedy recovery of the injured people and said that necessary measures have been taken for their better treatment.

The government will stand by the families of the deceased ones, he added.
