Water levels at 51 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 70 stations recorded fall.

Among the 127 monitored river stations, water levels at six stations have remained steady while no stations are flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here on Friday.

In the past 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred in some areas of Rangpur division, and heavy rainfall in some areas of Dhaka and Chattogram divisions, as well as in the upstream regions of Tripura and Assamin India.

In the next 72 hours (from 12 September at 09:00 AM to 15 September at 09:00 AM), scattered heavy to  very heavy rainfall is likely in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, as well as in the adjoining upstream regions of Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, and Sikkim in India.

The water levels of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers have fallen in the past 24 hours and are flowing below the danger level, the bulletin said.

These rivers may remain stable over the next 24 hours and rise during the following 04 days, but are expected to flow below the danger level.

The water level of the Ganga river has risen in the past 24 hours, while the water level of the Padma river has remained stable; both are flowing below the danger level. The water levels of these rivers may rise over the next

05 days but are expected to flow below the danger level.

The water levels of the Surma and Kushiyara rivers have remained stable in the past 24 hours and are flowing below the danger level. These rivers may rise over the next 03 days.
