Bangladesh A women’s cricket team confirmed their place at the top of Group B of the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 with a commanding 90-run win over Malaysia Women in Bangkok on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Bangladesh A posted 151 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs at the Terdthai Cricket Ground. Lata Mondal was the standout batter with a well-paced 48 off 44 balls, while Sarmin Sultana contributed a valuable 30 off 25. Captain Fahima Khatun also made a useful 29 to help set a competitive total.
In response, Malaysia were restricted to 61 for 9 as Bangladesh A’s bowlers dominated. The hosts struggled to build partnerships under pressure, and were eventually dismissed well short of the target, handing Bangladesh A their third victory in three matches.
Fatema Jahan was the pick of the bowlers with three for 10 while Shorifa Khatun took two for 13.
With the top spot secured, Bangladesh A will now face Pakistan A in the second semifinal on Thursday, setting up a crucial knockout clash as they pursue the Rising Stars title.
