Won’t waste worthless time in holding elections: Dr. Yunus

Interim government’s chief adviser Nobel-winning economist Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, the interim government will not waste unnecessary time in organizing national elections.

He said this in a meeting with representatives of political parties on Saturday.

At this time, urging to maintain communal harmony Dr Yunus said all to be careful that no one can create anarchy during the upcoming Durga Puja.

Before this, Dr Muhammad Yunus started meeting with political parties and alliances at State Guest House Jamuna which will continue till 8 pm.

Seven Islamic parties participated in the meeting first. They are Khelafat Majlish, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Hefazat-e Islami, Jamiat Ulama Islami, Khilafat Andolon, Islamic Andolon and Nezami Islam.

Then step by step Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Jatiyatabadi Samman Jot, Bangladesh JaSad, 12-party alliance, Gano Forum and Jatiya Party will meet Dr Yunus.

The interim government headed by chief adviser Dr Yunus took oath on August 8, 2024.
