A youth of Garamashi village in Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj district committed suicide after taking sleeping pills on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Mahmudul Hasan, 21, son of late Shomer Ali Mandal of the mentioned village. But, the reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately.

Anisur Rahman, Officer in Charge of Belkuchi Police Station said, the victim was taken to Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday night at around 3:00am after falling into sick for taking sleeping pills. He died at the hospital, while undergoing treatment. But, the reason behind the committing suicide could not be known so far. We however, will take lawful action in this regard.
