A Correspondent, Barguna:

A 21-year-old youth has been stabbed to death allegedly by a union-level Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal(JCD) leader over  previous enmity in Taltali upazila of Barguna.

The deceased was identified as Arafat Khan, son of local Sharikkhali union parishad’s current member Faruk Khan of Badurgachha village. He used to work as a rider of rented motorbike.

Police and locals said there was a longstanding dispute between Arafat and accused Arafat Shikdar, member secretary of the union unit of the BNP’s student wing Chhatra Dal.

The JCD leader and his associates  attacked Arafat when he was sitting in front of a pesticide shop at local Kachupatra Bazar around 9pm on Saturday, leaving him critically injured.

Locals took him to nearby Amtali Upazila Health Complex where physicians declared him dead upon arrival.

Taltali police station’s Officer-in-Charge Md Shahjalal said the previous enmity might have led to the killing and efforts are underway to arrest those involved in it.
