Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of 23 Bangladeshis in a boat capsize while illegally attempting to reach Italy by sea, saying youths in the country are not getting security in life and livelihood.
In a statement sent to the media on Tuesday, the Jatiya Party chairman prayed for the departed souls and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.
He also urged the government to take strict action against human traffickers operating through illegal routes.
In the statement, GM Quader said: “Our children are losing their lives while trying to reach Europe illegally; there can be no news more painful than this. Even after 54 years of independence, human trafficking has not been prevented. Such tragic incidents prove how severe the lack of employment opportunities is in the country.
GM Quader demanded exemplary punishment for illegal human traffickers without delay.
