A decision has been taken to send 12 pro-Awami High Court judges on leave in the face of the protest by the Students Against Discrimination (SAD) Movement.
The Chief Justice informed the judges about this decision. There was an allegation against them of working as a “cohort” during Hasina’s government.
Several judges of the Supreme Court confirmed this on Wednesday (October 16) afternoon.
Meanwhile, thousands of students of the SAD Movement surrounded the High Court demanding the resignation of pro-Awami League judges. At around 12:30 pm, thousands of students took a stand in the High Court premises. The entire High Court premises were abuzz with their slogans and sit-ins.
