• 1850 pieces of Buprenorphine injection recovered

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 in a drive recovered 1850 pieces of Buprenorphine injection and detained two drug peddlers from Chandaikona kitchen market area in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj district.

Maruf Hossain, Commander of RAB-12 confirmed the matter to media on Saturday morning through a press briefing.

The arrested are Saiful Islam, 45, son of late Sabed Ali of Gabindapur village in Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon district and Tariqul Islam, 35, son of late Syed Ali of Sontospur village in Rangpur district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-12 forces conducted the drive at Chandaikona Baza’ar on Friday noon and recovered the drugs from a sack kept along with vegetables. During the drive, RAB forces picked two drug traders up and seized two cell phones from their possessions.

Later, the two persons were handed over to Raiganj thana police, where a case was lodged on behalf of the RAB-12, Maruf revealed.
