The highly corrupt and controversial Sub-Divisional Engineer (SDE) of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) Md. Jahidur Rahman Milu, who had been served at the same office in Sirajganj for about six years at a time joined at the RHD’s Bogura office on Wednesday after his transfer that leads anger among the honest and sacrificing officials of the new working place.

Executive Engineer (EE) of RHD’s Bogura office Mr Rashedul Haque confirmed about his joining on Wednesday.

A number of the workers and employees of the RHD’s Bogura office on condition of anonymity told that, “The image of RHD’s Bogura office is likely to be tarnished by the newly joined officer Milu, if he continues his malpractices at the office like previous station. This is why, he should be withdrawn from the office immediately to keep the Bogura office’s good will unchanged.”

Md. Jahidur Rahman Milu, identity no. 602392, was transferred to Bogura office through a notification issued on April 6 and signed by Md. Mohibul Huque, identity no. 601931, Superintendent Engineer (SE) of RHD (current charge for admin and installation).

Earlier on March 30, The Daily Sky published a news-report with the title “RHD: How much honey at Sirajganj office? SDE Milu serving at same station for six yrs” revealing his professional misdeeds and misconducts.

According to the sources, Milu had turned the Roads and Highways Department’s Sirajganj office into a den of corruption and irregularities due to staying there for long time. He has amassed crores of taka through bribery and commission trade establishing dominance at the office and developing relationship with some unscrupulous contractors. He has already siphoned most of the money earned in illegal means to abroad.

Now there has raised new allegation that, some of his close contractors, who earlier served his purposes in Sirajganj, have already started working in favour of him to establish similar supremacy in Bogura.
