2 NGO workers’ hanging bodies found in Cox’s Bazar

A Correspondent, Cox’s Bazar:

Police recovered the hanging bodies of two NGO workers from Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday morning.

The bodies were recovered at around 9:00am from Rajapalong area near Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Government Girls College in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Meherab Hossain, 30, son of Mozammel Haque, hailed from Patuakhali district and Popy Deb, 27, daughter of Sukh Lal Deb, hailed from Habiganj district. The both were worked at RTM international NGO.

Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station, said, “Two NGO worker’s hanging body was recovered in the morning. They committed suicide by hanging themselves the same ways. The duo were colleagues. But, the reason behind the committed suicide could not be known immediately.”

The bodies have been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar hospital morgue for autopsies, the OC added.
