The government has promoted 277 senior assistant secretaries and officials of equivalent rank to the post of deputy secretary.

On Monday, the Ministry of Public Administration issued two separate notifications signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Nur-e-Alam in this regard.

According to the notifications, the officials were promoted to the post of deputy secretary and made officers on special duty (OSDs) at the ministry.

The notifications further said that if an official’s office or workplace has already been changed from the one mentioned in the promotion order, the official must submit a joining letter mentioning the name and address of the office where they are currently serving.

However, the authorities reserve the right to make necessary amendments to or cancel the order in the case of any officials if any adverse or contradictory information is subsequently found against them.

The promoted officials may submit their joining letters directly to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration or online via email at sa1@mopa.gov.bd.

These orders, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.

As per practice, 262 of the promoted officials have been made OSDs at the Ministry of Public Administration following their promotion. In addition, 15 promoted officials serving in different missions have been retained in their previous positions.
