Sirajganj District BNP has celebrated the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder martyr President Ziaur Rahman through various arrangements.
These programmes were held at its party office on EB Road and old Shaheed Minar area located at the intersection of five streets in the town on Friday.
The programme was started by hoisting the flags (national, party and black) at the district BNP’s party office at 6:00 am. Later, at 8:00 am, the Quran was recited and special prayers were offered to seek forgiveness for the soul of the martyred President.
At 11:50 am, a wreath was placed at the portrait of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman installed at the district BNP office and tributes were paid. Then at 11:55 am, a condolence procession was brought out from in front of the party office with the initiative of District Nationalist Freedom Fighters Party that ended at the old Shaheed Minar of the town after marching the streets. There, party leaders and activists paid tribute to the martyred President by placing another wreath.
The programme was presided over by Sirajganj District BNP President Rumana Mahmud.
District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Organizing Secretary Mirza Mustafa Zaman, Senior Joint Secretary VP Shamim, Joint Secretaries Nur Qayyum Sabuj, Milon Islam Khan, town BNP President Selim Bhuiyan, General Secretary Munshi Zahed Alam, District Mohila Dal President Sabina Yasmin Hasi, General Secretary Elama Begum, District Chhatra Dal General Secretary Serajul Islam Seraj, Organizing Secretary Sumon Ahmed, District Ulama Dal Convener Maulana Abdur Razzak, District Sramik Dal President Bisha Sheikh, District BNP Labor Affairs Secretary Nazrul Islam and District Nationalist Freedom Fighter Dal Convener Bir Muktijoddha Azizur Rahman Dulal among others were also present at the time.
