112 years 5 months & 7 days: Is Farman Ali highest elderly man in the world?

It is true that, age is just a number, but it’s a big matter for a person to achieve the title of highest oldest alive man in the world.

Thanks to the Allah almighty that, among other oldest alive persons, Farman Ali, who lives in a village of Shahzadpur upazila in Sirajganj district, has sprightly crossed 112 years.

According to his date of birth on February 06, 1912, he is now 112 years 5 months and 7 days old as of today (July 13, 2024).

This age is well beyond the average life expectancy of a human. In Bangladesh, the average life expectancy of a man is about 73.82 years in 2024, and a woman 76 years, according to the Statista and Macrotrends.

Over the last two observations, the life expectancy has significantly increased in all gender groups as part of the positive trend; the life expectancy reaches the maximum value for the different genders at the end of the comparison period. Particularly noteworthy is the life expectancy of women at birth, which has the highest value of 76.01 years.

According to the NID, born on February 06, 1912, Farman Ali, son of late Sadeque Ali of Moshipur village in Shahzadpur upazila of Sirajganj district is likely to be a highest oldest person in the country as well as the world. He is currently leading his life without any physical support of others. He can move easily here and there as per his needs. Earlier, he was a farmer and used to live by farming.

Dr. MA Matin, grandson of Farman Ali on April 24 last submitted an application to enlist the name of Farman Ali as a highest oldest person in the Guinness World Records, which reference number is 240422065217. The authorities concerned of the Guinness World Records assured to communicating their decision within three months of the application.

Father of four children, Farman Ali has about 40 subordinates including his grandsons and granddaughters.

When asked how he is, centenarian Farman Ali told The Daily Sky Correspondent that, he is fine.

His elder son Mohammad Abdul Bari said that, after death of his mother (Farman Ali’s wife) nine years ago, he looks after his father. His father can now complete his urgent work by himself. He also urged all to pray for his father.
