A head-on collision between two buses resulted in the deaths of one passenger and left 12 passengers injured at the Faltita area of ​​Fakirhat Upazila on the Khulna-Dhaka highway on Saturday around 6:30 am.

The deceased is Sridhar Ganguly is the son of Gin Ganguly of Devgram, Kotalipara, Gopalganj district.

Sheikh Nuruzzaman, Officer in Charge of Mollahat Highway Police Station said that a Dhaka-bound Dola Paribahan bus reached the Faltita area of ​​Fakirhat, it collided head-on with another Benapole-bound Rajib Paribahan bus coming from the opposite direction. The Dola Paribahan bus fell into the ditch on the side of the road. Sridhar Ganguly, a passenger of Rajib Paribahan, was killed on the spot. At that time, 12 passengers on both buses were injured. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals including Upazila Health Complex.

He also said that the body has been recovered, and will be handed over to the family after legal process. However, the two bus drivers and helpers fled after the incident. However, two buses have been impounded.
