Two persons including a bus driver were killed and 12 others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Bonpara highway at Nalka overpass area in Kamarkhanda upazila of Sirajganj district early Saturday.

One of the deceased has been identified as Munsur Ali, 26, son of Mojahar Mandal of Tiloz village under Buriganj Union in Shibganj upazila of Bogura district. Identity of another person could not be known immediately.

Police said that, the accident took place at around 1:30am, while a Chattogram bound bus coming from Dinajpur collided head on with a goods laden truck coming from Sirajganj leaving two persons dead on the spot and 12 others injured.

On information, police reached to the spot and recovered the bodies. Later, those were sent to Sirajganj Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was lodged with the respective Jamuna Bridge Western thana in this connection, said OC Amirul Islam.
