DU Correspondent:

Considering the safety of students amidst the ongoing quota reform movement, the Dhaka University administration on Wednesday announced closure for an indefinite period and ordered students to vacate the halls by 6:00pm.

The protesting students however said that they would not leave their halls.

Several coordinators of the Boisommo Birodhi Chatra Andolon confirmed this to the media on Wednesday afternoon.

Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators, said, “We reject the DU order. No one will step into the trap of this conspiracy to destroy our rational movement.

“We, the students, are united about not leaving the DU halls. Since the university administration did not save us from the attack, we are not obliged to listen to them.”

Another coordinator Rifat Rashid said, “We are not in favor of leaving the hall. The reason for asking us to leave the halls is to impede our movement. We will not fall into this trap.”
