The National Economic Council (NEC) has been constituted with the interim government’s chief adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus its chairperson.

All the members of the advisory council are also members of the NEC.

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday.

Officials, including the cabinet secretary, principal secretary/secretary, Bangladesh Bank governor, Planning Division secretary, Planning Commission members, and secretaries of ministries/divisions concerned would assist the NEC, read the notification.
