Hannan insists they are prepared for everything

Sports Desk:

Former Bangladesh head coach Sridharan Sriram urged Tigers to be mentally prepared for everything as they are set to travel to India for two Test matches and three T20Is.

Bangladesh will depart on 15 September for India for the series that will commence with the two-match Test series opener at Chennai.

Bangladesh will be looking forward to get some input from their former head coach Sriram, who also happens to come from Chennai city.

However, Sriram told Daily Sun that he will not able to help the visitors much in this regard as he just arrived from England but he added that the visitors should be ready for everything.

“I don’t know I have not been Chennai wicket I have not seen it for a long time so I really don’t I have to go and see once. I just came back and I have not been to Chepuk since IPL,” said Sriram.

“The thing is you don’t know how they want to give it and they can give it however they want. This question that lot of people asked how the wicket will behave but I really don’t know because Gautam Gambhir is new.  Will he want fast wickets because they are going to Australia or they put on turning track? So nobody knows how the pitch will behave until you come and land here and go to the ground,” he said

“I think they (Bangladesh) should be ready for everything,” he said.

Hannan Sarkar, member of Bangladesh selection panel, told reporters they are ready for everything.

“We will play in Chennai and Kanpur, they can make seaming wickets as well,” said Hannan.

“So we have the option of four seamers. Normally, there is a very little chance of playing four of them in a match. If three of them play, one will remain as backup. We strengthened our batting lineup because we know we may not need the extra seamer if we take five pacers,” he said.

“They can make their squad as per their strength being the home team. Our spinners Taijul and Nayeem Hasan didn’t play against Pakistan, Shakib and Miraz did. So our spin is in good shape. Our pace bowling is in a good shape too. Besides we thought of adding an option in our batting, we can use that if we need,” he said.

“India are a balanced side, we have to admit that. Their pace bowling is good; they have variations in their spin as well. Their spinners are pretty good all-rounders, as we know Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, even Kuldeep Yadav is there. Their combination is good. Whatever conditions they make, they are a strong side, and I believe we have our strength as well. I don’t want to specifically say their pace or spin (which is stronger),” he concluded.
