Now the identity of the General Secretary of Dhaka University unit Islami Chhatra Shibir has been revealed. It is known that he also held a position in the Bangladesh Chhatra League.

After the disclosure of DU unit Chhatra Shibir President’s identity sparked intense discussion, the identity of the General Secretary came to light.

The student, named SM Farhad, from the 2017-18 academic session of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, used to reside at the university’s Kabi Jasimuddin Hall.

Various discussions have arisen after SM Farhad’s political identity surfaced on social media platform Facebook on Sunday night. A senior leader of Chhatra Shibir, on condition of anonymity, confirmed SM Farhad’s political involvement.

Several attempts were made to contact Chhatra Shibir’s President Sadiq Kayem regarding this matter, but he could not be reached.

Earlier on Saturday, following a meeting with the university administration, the identity of the President of the university unit of Chhatra Shibir Sadiq Kayem was revealed. He is a student of the 2016-17 academic session in the Department of Political Science.

Both Sadiq and Farhad enrolled at Dhaka University after passing their Alim (higher secondary) exams from Chittagong’s Baitush Sharaf Adarsha Kamil Madrasa.
