At least four people were killed and 10 others injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck at Kalihati link road on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in the early hours of Friday.
The accident occurred at around 1am, but the identity of the victims was not confirmed immediately, police sources said.
The injured were admitted to Tangail General Hospital for treatment.
A Mymensingh bound bus left from the capital reached the Mymensingh link road on the Dhaka-Tangail highway and collided with a truck left from Kalihati leaving four people dead on the spot, said Mohammad Nannu Khan, In-Charge of Alenga highway police outpost.
The incident along with incessant rain caused a gridlock within 10 kilometres on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.
