A court in Sirajganj on Tuesday placed former Parliament Member for Sirajganj-2 (Sadar and Kamarkhanda) Constituency Jannat Ara Talukder Henry and her husband former Zilla Parishad Chairman Shamim Talukder Labu on a-four-day remand again in a case filed for killing of BNP activist Abdul Latif during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement on August 4.

Police produced the duo before the court along with a-fresh-seven day remand plea. After hearing, the court issued a-four day remand for the coupled.

Earlier Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 forces arrested them from Borshijorra area in Moulvibazar district, where they had been remained absconding since after fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.

Sources said, three BNP and Jubo Dal leaders including Abdul Latif were killed in Sirajganj violence during the Anti-discrimination Students’ Movement on August 4. Centering the incidents, three separate cases were lodged with Sirajganj police station accusing over 900 people including Henry and her husband Labu.

Mousumi Khatun, wife of slain Jubo Dal leader Sohanur Rahman Ranju, Saleha Begum, sister of BNP activist Abdul Latif, who resided in Goyla area of the town and Ganjer Ali Sheikh, father of slain Sumon Mian of the same village filed the cases respectively, police said.

On the other hand, the duo are also accused of another case filed for keeping arms and ammunitions in their possessions despite the government directive for submitting those to the authorities concerned within a fixed time. But, they failed.
