Retired Additional IGP and former DMP Commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruq was detained at Dhaka airport while on his way to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

Immigration officers questioned him after he approached the immigration counter at the airport’s departure area. Following this, he was not permitted to board the plane.

A responsible source at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport confirmed the matter.

The former senior police official was on a personal trip and was scheduled to travel to Bangkok on Thai Airways flight TG-340.
