Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has expressed concern over the continuation of a culture of dominance and resource grabbing across various sectors, even after the interim government assumed office.

At a press conference held in the capital on November 18, TIB unveiled findings from its research titled “First 100 Days After the Fall of the Authoritarian Government in New Bangladesh.”

Chief researcher Shahzada M Akram presented the report, highlighting that the country has a unique opportunity to build a ‘New Bangladesh’ through state reforms and a new political and social framework. However, the report emphasized that realizing this vision would require coordinated efforts and strategic planning from all stakeholders.

TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to promoting good governance and fighting corruption. “Through our research, we aim to create a conducive environment for positive change. We will continue to play an active role in driving this transformation,” he said.

While the interim government faces a historic opportunity to initiate reforms, systemic inefficiencies, coordination issues, and ongoing dominance in various sectors remain significant barriers. TIB’s findings call for urgent action to address these challenges and pave the way for sustainable governance in the new political landscape.
