Bangladesh’s two-day warm-up match against West Indies Select XI at the Coolidge Cricket Ground ended in a rain-affected draw on Monday, but Hasan Murad’s hattrick stole the spotlight.

The rookie left-arm spinner produced a stunning spell, taking three wickets for just one run as the hosts were reduced to 87-9 in 27.4 overs after resuming on 5-1 in reply to Bangladesh’s 253-7.

Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed supported Murad with two wickets each, showcasing a dominant performance by the visitors’ bowlers.

On Sunday, Bangladesh’s innings was anchored by contributions from Jaker Ali (48), Mahidul Islam (41), and 31 each from Liton Kumer Das and Mominul Haque.

Despite rain disruptions limiting play, the match served as a valuable dress rehearsal for Bangladesh, who will carry confidence from their bowlers’ efforts into the first Test against the West Indies, beginning November 22 in Antigua.
