The two-day auction for the Indian Premier League (2025) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia ended on Monday with no franchise showing least interest in any of the 12 Bangladesh players listed.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest-ever player to be picked in IPL after Rajasthan Royals paid INR1.10 crore for the 13-year-old. India pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar, and South Africa’s Marco Jansen sparked a bidding war on day two.

But no one wanted some Fizz or leg spin of RIshad Hossain as only these two players were brought under the hammer during the accelerated auction while the other 10, including the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Towhid Hridoy weren’t even called to be sold.

Mustafiz – the only Bangladesh cricketer to get picked in the last edition’s auction – priced at INR 2 crores, was the first Bangladesh player to be called up on the second day of the auction but no franchise showed interest to rope in the left-arm pacer. .

He played nine matches for the Chennai Super Kings last year, taking 14 wickets at an economy rate of 9.26.

Rishabh Pant’s INR 27 crore acquisition by LSG remained the biggest buy of the auction by some distance. Surprisingly, the likes of David Warner, Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips remained unsold during the auction.
