Alamgir Sheikh Titu, former mayor of Rajbari Municipality, will take part in BSS examination from jail. The exams will be held on November 29.
The Senior Judicial Magistrate of Rajbari issued the order on Monday (November 25) following a petition.
Alamgir Sheikh is a BSS student of Dr. Abul Hossain College under the Bangladesh Open University.
Rapid Action Battalion-2 arrested Alamgir Sheikh from Dhaka on September 25 in connection with a case filed over an attack on students during an anti-discrimination movement.
On the same day, he was produced before the Rajbari Judicial Magistrate Court, in which the court sent him to jail, where he has been languishing.
Advocate Wazir Ali Sheikh filed the petition on behalf of Alamgir Sheikh.
The lawyer said as per the court’s order, Alamgir Sheikh will sit for the exam under the supervision of the college from jail.
The court has instructed the local authorities of the Open University to take necessary measures for facilitating his exam.
Ainul Haque, the deputy regional director of the Rajbari center of Open University, confirmed that all arrangements have been made.
