Interim Government’s Law, Judicial, and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul has strongly protested the statement of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Liberation War.

The Law Adviser posted this protest on his verified Facebook page on Monday (December 16).

Asif Nazrul wrote in his status, “I protest strongly. 16 December 1971 was the day of victory for Bangladesh. India was an ally of this victory, nothing more.”

Earlier on Monday, in a social media post, the Indian Prime Minister said, “Today, on Victory Day, we honour the courage and sacrifice of the brave soldiers who contributed to “India’s historic victory” in 1971. Their selfless dedication and unwavering resolve have saved our nation and brought us glory. This day is a tribute to their extraordinary valour and indomitable spirit. Their sacrifice will forever inspire generations and remain deeply embedded in the history of our nation.”

In other words, in the post, Narendra Modi cleverly claimed that the Liberation War of Bangladesh was India’s war. Besides, he has avoided the name of Bangladesh, the country where Victory Day is celebrated.

Of course, this is not the first time Modi has made such an attempt. He has done this before. The Indian Prime Minister has also faced severe criticism for this.
