The body of a teenage girl recovered from Purbachal Lake in Rupganj of Narayanganj has been identified. The deceased girl’s name is Suzana, 18, a twelve-grade student of the science department at Vashantek Govt College in the capital Dhaka.

The deceased Suzana is the daughter of the late Abbas Mia of the Kachukhet area of ​​Kafrul police station in the capital, confirmed  Mehedi Islam, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Ga Circle) of Dhaka District Police.

Earlier, the teenage girl’s body was recovered from Sector 2 in Purbachal on Tuesday (December 17) morning. Suzana’s mother Champa Begum identified the girl after seeing her picture on social media.

Citing the family, police officer Mehedi Islam said, “Suzana left home on Monday afternoon, saying she was going to her friend’s house. She did not return home that night. Suzana’s body was recovered on Tuesday morning. Suzana’s family contacted the police after seeing the picture on social media.”

Police said “a motorcycle helmet” was found with Suzana’s body. The helmet belonged to Suzana’s friend, a 10th-grade student, according to her family. Both are residents of the Kafrul area. Suzana’s body was found, but “a friend is missing”. A search is underway for him.

“Multiple injury marks were found on the deceased’s neck and face. The exact cause of death can be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report of the body,” said Rupganj Police Station OC Liaquat Ali.
