The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case on Wednesday against former deputy commissioner (DC) of police of Uttara Division Md Shahjahan on charges of amassing illegal wealth of over Tk1.40 crore beyond known sources of income.

ACC Director General (Prevention) Md Akther Hossain confirmed it saying the case was filed with ACC under section 27 (1) of the Anti Corruption Commission Act, 2004 and section 5 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.

Shahjahan, also a former police super of Faridpur district, is currently attached with DIG office of Chittagong range.
