Train movement on all routes, including Rajshahi to Dhaka, resumed after the recovery of a derailed coach of the Titumir Express near Belpukur in Rajshahi.

Operations normalized at around 11am on Monday, four and a half hours after the derailment.

Rajshahi Railway Station Manager Moin Uddin confirmed that rescue efforts were completed at around 10:45am, allowing the train to depart for Parbatipur shortly after. The damaged track was also repaired, restoring normal train operations.

The incident occurred at 6:36am, shortly after the Titumir Express, which was the first train to leave Rajshahi that morning, departed the station at 6:20am. Two wheels of a coach derailed at Belpukur, disrupting train movement on all routes connected to Rajshahi.

Due to the derailment, the intercity Silk City Express and non-stop Banalata Express, both headed for Dhaka, could not depart on schedule. Additionally, the Madhumati Express was delayed at Harian station.

Abdur Rashid, assistant engineer of the Western Railway, said that all halted trains were gradually released after the rescue operation. Train schedules are now returning to normal, although departures are delayed by three to four hours.

Railway officials and staff worked tirelessly to ensure the swift resolution of the disruption, minimizing further inconvenience to passengers.
