Mehidy Hasan Miraz was named player of the tournament in the 11th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), while Tanzid Hasan Tamim won the best emerging cricketer award as Fortune Barishal defended their title by beating Chattogram Kings by three wickets in Friday’s final at Mirpur.

While Tamim Iqbal, Towhid Hridoy, and their teammates revel in their triumph and the financial rewards that come with it, several players also shone individually throughout the tournament.

FINAL’S PLAYER OF THE MATCH (TAMIM IQBAL, FORTUNE BARISHAL): Tamim Iqbal led from the front in Barishal’s title-winning campaign, playing a key role in their chase with a 29-ball 54, hitting nine fours and a six to win the player of the match award. He was also his team’s highest run-scorer, finishing with 413 runs in 14 matches at 37.54, including four fifties—the fourth-most in the tournament.

PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT (MEHIDY HASAN MIRAZ): Khulna Tigers’ captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz played a crucial all-round role in taking his team to the playoffs, scoring 355 runs at 27.30, including two half-centuries, and taking 13 wickets. He struggled early in the tournament but found form after being promoted to open the batting.

TOP RUN-SCORER (NAIM SHEIKH, KHULNA TIGERS): Naim Sheikh topped the tournament’s run charts, scoring 511 runs at 42.58 in 14 matches, with a century and three fifties. The 25-year-old left-hander, often criticised for his scoring rate, batted at a strike rate of nearly 144 this season.

TOP WICKET-TAKER (TASKIN AHMED, DURBAR RAJSHAHI): Taskin Ahmed set a new BPL record with 25 wickets in 12 matches, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan’s 23 wickets in 2019. The right-arm pacer, who took over as Rajshahi’s captain midway through the tournament, produced the best bowling figures in BPL history with 7 for 19 against Dhaka Capitals.

BEST EMERGING CRICKETER (TANZID HASAN TAMIM, DHAKA CAPITALS): Tanzid Hasan Tamim was one of the few bright spots in a poor campaign for Dhaka Capitals, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 485 runs at 44.09, including a century and four fifties. The 24-year-old left-handed opener, who has been in the national side for over a year and a half, won the inaugural best emerging cricketer award.

BEST FIELDER (MUSHFIQUR RAHIM, FORTUNE BARISHAL): Mushfiqur Rahim had a quiet tournament with the bat, scoring 184 runs in nine innings at 26.28, but his work behind the stumps earned him the best fielder award. The 37-year-old registered a tournament-high 14 dismissals, including 12 catches—the second-most in the competition—and two stumpings.
