A motorcycle rider and his co-rider werekilled as an unidentified vehicle hit their bike at Kalihati upazila of the district on Monday.

The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Tangail highway at Kamakkhya intersection under Kalihati of the Jamuna Bridge around 6.30am on Monday but the identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, said Sheikh Mohammad Rubel, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jamuna Bridge (East) Police Station.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered their bodies, he said, adding, “Police seized the motorbike from the spot.”
