A school teacher was killed and her husband and sone were critically injured in a road accident at Nandigram upazila in Bogura district on Friday afternoon.

The accident took place at around 5 PM at Kundarhat bus stand on the Bogura-Natore highway in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Shamima Akter, 35, wife of Abdul Hakim, an assistant teacher at Peng Bonar Para Government Primary School in the Burail Union of the upazila.

In this accident, Shamima’s husband and son, Sanjil, were critically injured and are currently hospitalized at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

According to local and police sources, the family of three was returning home on a motorcycle after shopping for Eid at the market in Bogura. As they reached the Kundarhat bus stand, a bus from Century Paribahan, heading towards Bogura, hit their motorcycle. T

he crash caused Abdul Hakim, Shamima, and their son Sanjil to be thrown from the motorcycle.

Locals quickly rescued them in a severely injured condition and rushed them to the hospital, but Shamima Akter died on the way to hospital.

In connection with the incident, officer-in-charge Monowaruzzaman of the Kundarhat Highway Police Station stated, “A woman was killed when a bus hit her while she was returning from Bogura at the Kundarhat bus stand.

The bus is in police custody, but the driver has fled. Legal action will be taken in this regard.”
