People breathe a sigh of relief after Army interference

Movement of Polytechnic students caused immense sufferings to the commuters on Wednesday as the students staged demonstrations blocking the road near Railgate area in Sirajganj town. As a result, transports drivers, passengers and businessmen faced tremendous problems for several hours.

After interference of Army and local administration, the situation came under control, locals said.

Sources said, several hundreds of students from Polytechnic Institution started gathering at Railgate area in the town and staged demonstration blocking the road and halting transport movement to protest against the 30 percent promotion of Craft Instructors.

Due to their movement, severe traffic jam was created across the town that hampers normal activities of the local dwellers, commuters and businessmen. Transports drivers, passengers and even pedestrians faced immense suffering due to their blockade.

On information, Army personnel and concerned officers from the local administration reached to the spot and brought the situation under control.

After the interference of the Army personnel, normalcy returns to the town and people breathe a sigh of relief.
