Case filed over violation of class-VII girl in Solongga

A case was lodged with Solongga Police Station in Sirajganj on Tuesday night for violating a class-VII girl accusing two persons including a teenage boy age 16.

After filing the case, police in a drive on the same night arrested one of the defendants from Panchlia area under the police station.

The arrested was identified as Kamrul Islam, 45, son of late Abdul Hye of Kuthirchar village in Kamarkhanda upazila of the district. He also used to live in Panchlia area in a rented house, said Mokhlesur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Salanga Police Station.

The OC told The Daily Sky that, victim is now undergoing treatment at Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College and Hospital in Sirajganj town. Her father has filed the case against two persons. Of them, the name of one was mentioned, while another was unknown. The main defendant, who was also SSC examinee, has been remained absconding since after the incident.

Citing complaint of the case, the OC said, the victim had been studying in class-VII at Panchlia Badrul Alam High School from her maternal grandmother’s house in Alok Diyar village of Solongga Police Station.

On Sunday (April 13), the accused SSC examinee (teenager) of the same school took her to the market of one Jahurul Islam, adjacent to Panchlia Bazar. Later, he forcibly violated her in a room of the market keeping confined.

The victim was first taken to a local clinic for treatment as she fell into sick due to heavy bleeding. Later on Monday, she was referred to Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College and Hospital as her condition deteriorated further.

Dr. Rakibul Islam, In-charge of the Gynecology Department of Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College and Hospital, said, “The schoolgirl was admitted to the hospital by her family. She had been suffering from a lot of bleeding. She was given two stitches through surgery. Two bags of blood were also given to her body. Now her condition is moving to improvement gradually.”

OC Mokhlesur Rahman said, “Effort to arrest the main accused (The Daily Sky averts mentioning the name of accused due to his underage) is underway.”
