The court in Sirajganj on Sunday sent 29 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliates including Tarash Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary Shahinur Rahman Labu and Assistant Publicity Secretary Mohammad Ali to Jail after rejecting their bail in a case.
Md. Rashedul Islam, Judge of the Administrative Court issued the order, when these leaders and activists, who were on bail from the High Court, appeared before the court along with bail petition.
The charges brought against them are that the accused attacked the convoy of BNP candidate Abdul Mannan Talukder while he was campaigning for the 11th National Parliament election in 2018, attempted to assassinate him by exploding a cocktail and vandalizing the vehicle.
