July is celebration time for Bangladeshi expatriates in Los Angeles and the biggest highlight of the month is undoubtedly Anandomela.

This year, the ninth edition of the vibrant cultural festival is set to take place on July 19 and 20 in the heart of Little Bangladesh, Los Angeles; promising two days of music, dance, food, and festivity.

What makes this year’s Anandomela even more special is the participation of several popular entertainers from Bangladesh. Among the star-studded lineup are singers Pritom Hasan, Pratik Hasan, Kishore Das and Arnik, actors Zayed Khan, Parsa Evana, Moushumi Mou, Neel Hure Jahan and dancer Alif. Many of them have already arrived in the US to join the festivities and perform live.

This will be the first time singer Pritom Hasan performs at Anandomela. Expressing his excitement, he said, “I’ve been doing concerts across the US and I’m thrilled to be part of Anandomela. Bangladeshi expatriates have made this event a tradition and I’m happy to share the joy with them.”

Previous editions of Anandomela have featured beloved artists like Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Arifin Shuvoo, Purnima, Apu Biswas, Tahsan and S.I. Tutul, making it a cultural hub for Bangladeshi Americans.

Founder Muhammad Ali emphasized that the event is a non-profit initiative and serves as the largest gathering of Bangladeshi community in Los Angeles. “This is more than a festival; it’s a homecoming for many,” he said.

Chairman Moazzem Hossain Chowdhury and President Sharif Hasibul added, “Our goal is to create emotional bonds among expatriates and offer a space where they can celebrate their heritage with joy and pride.”

Beyond performances, the two-day event will showcase traditional Bangladeshi products, street food, clothing and handicrafts. Cultural shows will run from 5 PM to 11 PM each day.

Distinguished guests including Michael Varga, Mayor of Lake Paris City, California and Heather Hart, Councilor of Los Angeles City, will attend as chief guests.

The event will also welcome prominent figures from the Bangladeshi-American community, local politicians, media representatives and social leaders.

Anandomela is free and open to the public; offering a unique opportunity to reconnect with Bangladeshi roots and culture, even thousands of miles away from home.
