Gopalganj Correspondent:

Three people have been killed and at least 20 others injured in a head-on collision between a dump truck and a bus in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila.

The accident occurred in the Boultali area along the Gopalganj-Tekerhat regional highway around noon on Tuesday, said Shafiul Alam, chief of Boultali Police Outpost.

Police could not immediately identify the dead.

Shafiul said a Sonali Paribahan bus, bound for Gopalganj from Tekerhat, collided with a dump truck coming from the opposite direction when the bus reached Boultali.

The bus was mangled in the crash and fell into a roadside ditch, while the truck overturned on the road. Three people died at the scene and at least 20 others were injured.

Locals later rescued the injured and sent them to Gopalganj Medical College Hospital and Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital, Shafiul said.
