Reckless sand laden truck claims life of Sirajganj woman

A 65-year-old woman was killed after being crushed by a recklessly driven sand-laden truck in Kazipur of Sirajganj district.

The accident took place around 6:00 AM on Sunday in the Shimuldair area of the upazila. The deceased Nur Jahan Begum was the wife of Rustam Ali Mondal of the same area.

According to local residents, Nur Jahan Begum was walking beside the road in the morning when a truck carrying sand from Meghai Balurghat toward Sonamukhi struck her and pinned her against a roadside tree in the Shimuldair area. She died on the spot.

Abdur Razzak, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kazipur Police Station, stated, “Police recovered the body after the accident and handed it over to the family. The truck has been seized, and preparations to file a case are underway.”
