Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday inaugurated the “Mohua-Kohua” irrigation project in Feni district.
Tarique unveiled the project plaque at around 2:30 pm in the Kheaghat Muhuri Bridge area of Parshuram upazila in the district. Following the unveiling, he planted a tree seedling at the venue and subsequently launched a river dredging programme.
The inaugural plaque at the site reads, “Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project Rehabilitation (Phase 1).”
Earlier, upon arriving at the event venue by road from Dhaka, Tarique was received by Rafiqul Alam Majnu, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Member of Parliament for the Feni-1 constituency.
Present at the event were Feni-2 MP VP Joynal Abedin, Feni-3 MP and Environment Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo, Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, State Minister Farhad Hossain Azad, Housing Minister Zakariya Taher, State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin, and female MP Rehana Akter Ranu, alongside local district leaders.
