Two youths were killed after being run over by an oil-laden truck at Sujanagar upazila in Pabna district on Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Kamrul Islam, 38, son of Nawab Ali Khan, a resident of Char Sujanagar, and Abdul Mannan, 40, son of late Bakkar Hossain of Masjidpara area under in Sujanagar upazila.

Police and witnesses said the duo was drinking tea at a tea stall near Sujanagar Police Station. At that time, the Nazirganj-bound oil-laden truck from Sujanagar Bazar hit them while attempting to enter to the embankment road from the market road, leaving them dead on the spot.

On information, fire service personnel recovered the bodies.

Jalal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sujanagar Police Station confirmed the matter and added that legal actions were being taken in this regard.
