TDS Desk:

Spending under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) stood at Tk28,044 crore in the first five months (July-November) of the current fiscal year 2025-26, marking the lowest ADP expenditure ever recorded for this period.

The information was revealed in a report published on Monday (15 December) by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED).

According to the IMED, data on ADP expenditure are available on its website from the 2010-11 fiscal year onward.

Despite last year being marked by a student-led mass uprising and the subsequent fall of the previous government as well as administrative instability, ministries and divisions spent more under the ADP during the same period.

In the first five months of the previous fiscal year, the ADP expenditure amounted to Tk34,215 crore.

In the preceding fiscal years, the ADP spending in the first five months stood at Tk46,857 crore in 2023-24 and Tk47,122 crore in 2022-23, respectively.
