The age limit for the post of central bank governor is expected to be removed soon
TDS Desk:
The government on Tuesday decided to appoint Ahsan H Mansur as the new governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB).
He will succeed Abdur Rouf Talukder, according to banking division sources.
Meanwhile, the age limit for the post of central bank governor, previously set at 67 years, is expected to be removed soon.
The governor’s position became vacant on 9 August when Abdur Rouf Talukder resigned as BB governor citing health issues, just four days after Sheikh Hasina stepped down as prime minister and fled the country amid an uprising.
