Two separate cases have been filed in Cox’s Bazar against 25 people over the killing of Lt Tanjim Sarwar Nirjon.

Abdullah Al Harunur Rashid, senior warrant officer of Fashiakhali army camp, filed a murder case, while SI Alamgir Hossain lodged another case under Arms Act.

The cases were filed early Thursday, Chakaria Police station OC Manzur Quader Bhuiyan confirmed.

Seventeenth people were named and eight unnamed in the cases.

Joint force arrested six fir-listed accused and operation to arrest others are underway, the OC added.

The arrested are Md Babul Prokas, 44, Md Helal Uddin, 34, Md Anwar Hakim, 28, Md Arif Ullah, 25, Md Ziabul Karim, 45, and Md Hossain, 39.

On Tuesday (September 24) a group of seven or eight robbers attacked Lt Tanjim Sarwar at Chakaria upazila when he chased them during the joint drive. At one stage, they stabbed his neck. Later Tanjim died.
