Home Affairs Adviser Retired Brigadier General M Sakhawat Hossain said the BGB had been forced to turn its back on the border. They no longer have to turn their backs on the border anymore.
He said this while visiting BGB members injured in the anti-discrimination student movement at BGB Hospital in Pilkhana on Tuesday afternoon.
The Home Affairs Adviser said that the Awami League government has destroyed the country’s police, RAB, Ansar and other institutions in the last 15 years. They asked a force like BGB to turn its back.
M Sakhawat Hossain said, those who have turned police and other institutions into monsters, will be prosecuted. They will be tried in domestic and international courts. After each killing, the BGB was forced to hold a flag meeting at the border. There is no chance of such an incident happening again.
He said the police were very sorry. The process of setting up the commission has come a long way, so no one can use the police politically. Policemen say they don’t want to go out even for a day wearing this outfit. New police uniforms and batch designs have been asked.
The home adviser also said that the law and order forces will be on maximum alert so that no one can sabotage any program on August 15.
